Robin and Bart Colligan are the founders of Outside The Box Giftables and More, located at 1297 Leonard Road Hamersville, Ohio. Outside The Box Giftables and More was created in June of 2022; after working many years in the customer service sector. With experience from serving patients in a physician’s offices to grocery, food and retail services; we decided to bring a small local gift shop to Hamersville.
This is the town where Bart and Robin both attended Kindergarten together. Bart and Robin became friends early in their childhood and learned that they were actually neighbors from riding the same bus to school. They were in classes together and began to play with each other everyday. In the 4th grade, Robin moved away. Bart continued school in the Western Brown School District and graduated; Robin graduated from Clermont North Eastern. Some years later, the two met again at a graduation party for Robin’s cousin (on the road where they’d met in their childhood) They’ve been together ever since.
Bart has spent his entire career of thirty-eight (38) years working for Kroger. Robin has spent her career working in customer service in some aspect. After retiring from the medical industry, she wanted to flex her “creative muscles” and joined Kroger in the Floral Department. Within a short amount of time, she was promoted to Floral Manager, where she created and designed displays located throughout the store.
Robin has always dreamed of having a shop of her own and finally decided that the time was right or her to do jut that.
You’ll find her shop filled with unique and unusual gifts. She features custom made gift baskets and floral arrangements. You’ll also find Weathered RainDrop Memorial Wind Chimes, Cheerful Giver Farmhouse candles, items made by local artisans and more. There is always something unique and different in the shop, so customers will have a great variety of items to choose from.
Outside The Box Giftables and More will be offering delivery, pickup, instore and online shopping, which will be available very soon.
We are proud to be business owners in this small community, where we have so much history. We hope that everyone comes out to the farm to visit us, browse our shop or just sit and visit for a while. We hope this is just the beginning of bringing the community closer together
Fun fact. Bart and Robin graduated from Kindergarten on June 3rd 1971 and were married on June 3rd 1995. Robin's Aunt Ruth Ann Fritz had the Program from the Kindergarten Graduation and a Graduation photo framed along with the Wedding invitation, as a wedding present. This was not planned. Bart and Robin were not aware that they were getting married on the same day as their kindergarten graduation until it was brought to their attention.
